The NHBRC

The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is a regulator body of the home building industry.

The CBE

The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is a statutory body established in terms of the Council for the Built Environment Act, 2000 (Act No. 43 of 2000) (CBE Act). The CBE Act was passed by Parliament in November 2000 and became operational in September 2001. The Minister of Public Works appointed the twenty members of the CBE in January 2002 and the CBE was launched and held its first meeting on 8 April 2002. The appointed Council reflects the spirit and the intent of the Act. The members were appointed on the strength of their experience in their particular fields of expertise and their commitment to the advancement of the built environment professions.

The NHFC

The National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC) is a development finance institution established by the South African government to fund and facilitate the development of affordable housing. NHFC’s principal mandate is to broaden and deepen access to affordable housing finance and housing structures for the benefit of the low- to middle-income households.

The MBSA

MBSA is a national organisation speaking on behalf of its members, the Master Builders Associations (MBAs) and specialised Affiliate members.

The EAEB

The Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) was established in 1977 in terms of the Estate Agency Affairs Act 112 of 1976 (‘the Act”), with the mandate to regulate and control certain activities of estate agents in the public interest.

The NAFBI

Founded in 1979, the National African Federation for the Building Industry (NAFBI) is the oldest and largest Building and Construction Industry Federation in South Africa. The Federation is represented in all nine Provinces of the Republic of South Africa with a total membership currently of 6 122 (six thousand one hundred and twenty two) member companies.

The GMBA

The GMBA is an employers organization serving the interests of its members in the building and allied trade industries.

South African Builder

South African Builder is the official journal for the Master Builders SA (MBSA). Published since 1923, it offers the latest news in the building and construction industry as well as topical discussion on industry projects, products, and personalities.

The magazine is distributed to all the members of the Master Builders Associations (MBA) in SA, as well as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), which include architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, small, medium and large contractors, sub contractors and builders' merchants.
